• Rest assured, I have had many “first sessions'' and I am comfortable in facilitating the process. I will begin by greeting you with a warm smile and welcome you into the space. From there, I will ask questions to get to know you a little better. Some questions you can expect:

    • We will dive deeper into the “why now?” What made you look into therapy as an option, what do you want to see change?

    • What is important for me to know about you, and your relationships?

    • Are you diagnosed with anything or taking medication?

    • Who is in your circle of support? This can include family, friends, and other professionals.

    • How are your challenges impacting your daily life?

    • More about your family system, culture, and religion if applicable

My priority is to make you feel seen, heard, and validated. I will ask you how you feel after the session, and we can discuss if you would like to book another session.

  • I charge 170$ for adults and 135$ for students

  • If finances are an issue and you do not have access to benefits, I have a limited number of sliding scale (reduced rate sessions) openings. I am happy to chat with you to see if you qualify.

  • This is an opportunity to tell me about the “now” and what led you to seek therapy. I will tell you about my style and approach and invite you to ask any questions you may have about my practice. If you feel ready, we will book your session during the consultation. If you need more time to think about it, that is okay too.

  • My service is HST exempt

  • I require 24-hours notice if you know you are not able to make the session. This way, I can offer the timeslot to those who are on a waiting list to work with me. If you cancel less than 24 hours, you will be invoiced for 100% of the session fee.

  • I am registered member with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Unfortunately, my services are not covered though OHIP. The majority of extended health care benefits do cover social work services; however, please double check with your insurance provider.

You will be provided with a receipt after each session.

  • There is no universal answer to this question. It depends on the situation, goals, and willingness to go within.

I suggest a minimum of three sessions to get a feel for the process and go from there.

  • No. My services are virtual only.

  • Yes.

  • No.

  • If you were to go to the gym and lift weights, chances are you might feel sore the next day. The process might be uncomfortable, and you might not want to show up sometimes. Over time you notice results, feel better, stand taller, and your body acclimates.

I like to think of therapy this way. When you first begin, you might feel raw and exposed.

The process may bring up repressed memories, and feelings you are not familiar with, and it may feel uncomfortable at times. Be kind to yourself. We will plan around your sessions. On the flip side, you might feel lighter, a little less misunderstood, and we might even find ourselves laughing in session.

Therapy is a vulnerable, intimate experience that will give you the tools to thrive. Like working out, consistency, discipline, and commitment to the work are the only way to yield results.
